The Academy of Hawaiian Arts is proud to support the annual George Na’ope Hula Festival in Sacramento, California. Founded by Rick Makanaaloha Kia’imeaokekanaka San Nicolas and the Makanaaloha Group, this event features hālau from California, Hawai’i, Oregon and Nevada competing in the wahine, kāne, kupuna, and keiki divisions. AHA’s Kumu Hula Mark Keali’i Ho’omalu will be judging the 2019 competition.
